Journal Entry: Sat Jan 8, 2011, 8:33 AM
Getting back up bits by bits, striking off things on the to-do lists, no time to waste on being down anymore.
Many shoots that still need to do editing, at least initial editing for a start.
Mostly shoots that are shot during Beijing trip.

Eva
Reiko The Zombie Shop
Final Fantasy XIII
Miku - Disappearance (done initial editing)
Miku - ELR Love Is War (done initial editing)
PSG
BRS
P4
FMA
SH - Seisen no Iberia
Honey and Clover
Ga Rei Zero (almost done)
Sheryl Nome - Obelisk
D.Gray-man

Some of the new year resolutions I've made:

- Be firm
- Stop being soft-hearted
- No hesitation
- Improve photography at a faster pace! Took me like 7 years to get to this kind of mediocre skills, when others can just do it within a year. So I really want to shoot more, learn more, experiment with many new stuffs this year, I still yet to get the breakthrough I'm feeling for. [Photography]
- Be more versatile, (have the money) to try new stuffs (lights, rain, underwater, over the top shoot), and yet still retain my own style. [Photography]
- Ability to be more versatile as a person too
- Be a better man
- Happiness

Most of my resolutions doesn't really involve money, other than photography equipments, cause I believe real (positive) change starts from learning, understanding, and changing within oneself.

Countries that are on my might-go list this year:

Australia - Sydney/Brisbane
Hong Kong/Macau/GZ
China - Shanghai/Beijing
Thailand - Bangkok
Korea - Seoul
Malaysia - KL (This one pretty confirm as usual)

Lastly, many thanks to :iconlina-lau: *brofist fellow libra-ian XD* and :iconherotenka: for the help during the past few days, really appreciate it!

*edit*
Missed out on a few shoots the first time round.

  • Mood: Llama
  • Listening to: Neil Zaza
  • Watching: Arsenal vs Man City
  • Drinking: Earl Grey tea + honey

Hey, don't go too hard on yourself, yeah? I understand you want to improve, but pushing yourself too much will go over the limit, and you'll burn yourself out. That won't be good for you. Everybody wants to excel in many things, in many aspects, but that doesn't mean we all can do that. Humans are not perfect, we can only be good in certain things, and weaker in the others. Maybe you should ask yourself what you desire MOST to achieve in, and work in priority. Don't rush for everything, it might end up backfiring on you...

The worst case scenario will be like me. I overworked and burnt out, ended up really sick and on a hospital bed. In the end, my health is still not yet fully recovered, and I can't do what I want, achieve what I want. It only slows down the process.

Take it easy bro, process of learning is equally important as achieving the goal.

I like pushing myself, I like challenge, especially when both sides are game on for the challenge.

To me it's better to burn out than to fade away.
For my current mentality, I rather achieve my goals and happiness at the expense of less sleep time, rather than relax, sleep more, but take a much longer route to reach there.

Not saying you should slack around and wait for a miracle to happen, but don't see things to the extreme ends. Not burning out =/= fade away. What I'm trying to say, is strike a balance. There is no point that you fall sick because you overworked, because it means going back to start point. Being sick only pulls you back, and it's not an obstacle you should overcome, but a stone along your path you created yourself.

That's from my personal experience, but 苦口良药, everybody most people don't appreciate my concern, think I'm only pouring buckets of cold water on them. Seriously, I'm not that boliao >_>
